BIRD HUNTING: A TECHNICAL PAPER                              Posted On: 28/3/09

ABSTRACT:

A study was conducted on a sample of birds/chicks caught unawares (too lend the report creditworthiness). An investigation was made on the possible reasons for the failure/ success in game /bird hunting (including success/failure with chicks). The studies revealed the applicability of the following rules in our day to day bird-hunting endeavours...

With Slumdog finally bagging 8 Oscars, I'm sure the debate on whether the movie portrayed India in a 'certain light' has far from ceased. I think most of us have read Arindam Chaudhri's "Don't see Sumdog Millionaire" article where he has gone on to crucify the movie totally, even to the effect of changing many of my friends' outlook towards the film...

COPING WITH A FAST WORLD Posted On: 23/2/2009

I was 15 minutes into nerdy conversation, when I realised that I had crossed the threshold I had set for myself. Occasionally, I do indulge in such guilty pleasures. Really in no mood to go forward with where this discussion might lead...

MY MONTHLY GET-AWAY??? Posted On: 28/1/2009

I head to this place occasionally. I don't like others to spot me here. Plus, the job's usually over in half an hour or less. And yesterday I was tempted to come here for no solid reason...

ONCE UPON A CLASSROOM Posted On: 30/12/2008

I’m well lodged in a front bench, and there’s this black-haired old-man. A funny face masks a man who I doubt would have ever cracked a joke in the last 20 years of a falling mane. His weak vocal chords betray my hearing. He’s moving his lips. He’s standing some 10 yards from where I write...

EVEN SEMESTER GLOBAL ELECTIVES 2008 Posted On: 21/12/2008

Electives for a 'change' and hopefully some fun! Though, let's hope our choices are determined not by learning from our seniors on which courses throw better grades. Make the most of your choices:

THERE AND BACK AGAIN...!!! Posted On: 16/12/2008

8:10 pm -

8:30 pm -

For the last twenty minutes, I've been trying hard to rivet my attention to one screen, incandescent amidst the dimness that prevails - a deliberate setting, owing to my affinity for black...

NITW EVEN SEMESTER REGISTRATION DETAILS Posted On: 13/12/2008
Hey folks!

We're now all set to get back to what I refer to as 'Untamed Telangana' - where (let's face it) we've got to celebrate Christmas and the New Year... Sigh!

RECOILING FOR A FIGHT... Posted On: 8/12/08

Note: Even though this issue has nothing to do with NIT Warangal, it still has weight enough for you guys and gals to give it a thought. Not just that. More than just thought-

Mumbai 26/11.

We all know what happened, so I'll spare you those grum details...

Watch out for this space for the results. Don't let the pressure build up...Just let the fart out! ;-) Ha! Kidding...

TO P OR NOT TO P... Posted On: 3/12/2008

Now don't get me wrong. Even though I'm in no mood for Shakespearean conflict, I find the knot not very funny. It's solely the teacher's problem- whether to P or not...

DE-LITING LITE-RA Posted On: 5/11/2008

I really don't want to be doing this, primarily because I'm supposed to be in the electronics lab giving my practical exams twelve hours from now. But then, something resounds in my head each time the gong bells...'Light lo bey...

DISCLAIMER: The views put forth have been scripted by somebody not in the best of his senses while typing in (that being nowwwWWW!!!!) and it might also be offending to some (he he..especially the guy over here dozing off, only to be captured by a mobile cam when he wasn't at his photogenic best ;-) )

AN APOLOGY Posted On: 10/10/2008

I know that I'm paying too less attention to the object of importance, which first got me inditing - my college, NIT W, but save me the pains fellas...
Today's motive behind the type is an apology...

A NUMBING NIGHT Posted On: 8/10/2008

Chill.
Horror....and Helplessness. I'd never known myself to ever use these word with such gravity as now. For the first time in life, I felt so feeble, so weak. Or at least that's what the baying kennel brought me to think.
It was late into the night, with true colors shedding from everything around, except the neon street lamps that I have now come to see as silent spectators to the night-time quiet.
I saw her jump. There was this girl I had a ...

UTTERLY AMUL Posted On: 4/10/2008

It's been long since I last gave thought to the AMUL parlour in our campus. The last time I was obliged to pen my views on the matter, was in my first year of college as a mundane assignment given by our 'English for Communication' Prof, to exercise to our prosaic faculties...

Laughter ZINDABAD Poseted On: 28/9/2008

What transpired recently in the park close to my house- which I visited for the first time in my life during the pre-sandaas period (that definition highlighting the first thing that's struck off my to-do list for the day ), kept me laughing all day long. I was laughing at laughter. Plus, a thing and a half more...

NOCTURNAL RUMINATIONS Posted On: 21/9/2008

I'm not sure this best reflects my mood. Excuse me for iterative poetry on these pages...CAN'T HELP IT.

Into the night this dream unfurls
as I stare into the moonshine dim...
Yearning as ever to brave the cold
and saline, ripe beads of sweat....

‘Mass Bunk’ has come to become an oft-repeated term derived from the collegiate lexicon. Most of us are found muttering the words to ourselves, each time the teacher gets just a tad off schedule. With me, it usually starts as whispering to myself followed by a more intense groan-the result of a group of enterprising students gathering courage to shout it out loud-and the till-then dormant mob of a class alights together, out of the classroom, exulting that common sense...uh-oh...common sentiment rather, prevailed- A spectacle not unseen...

5th THE SEPTEMBER Posted On: 6/9/2008

5th September. Does it ring a bell? To a vast majority (of the student populace) it does. But to some like me, it’s just any other day- No disrespect towards teachers meant. I’m lousy with dates. On one occasion, I’d forgotten my own birth anniversary-though I was forced to jog my memory when suddenly, my butt became the butt of everybody’s kicking pleasure. Birthday bumps “DO” serve some purpose! Hah!

Tech...No...Zion!!! Posted On: 2/9/2008

Zionism represents anti-slavery. Well, in a way, Technozion is all about setting free from constraints of technology...though guys like moi, with nothing to do will go nit-picking with anything that comes their way...

It’s been long since I gave serious thoughts to things. I usually write when I’m tired, and need a break, to unwind a little. But today, it’s something different that has got me keying in. It’s like a realization creeping from behind, out of the blue!..

ON ‘LIVING IN’ WITH PALS Posted On: 17/8/2008

Vinayak, Abhinav and I started off on a debate yesterday. We were trying to reach consensus on a topic which may not ‘concern’ us at this point, and would certainly raise more than mere eyebrows, were our parents there to witness the intensity with which we were pondering and weighing up the pros and cons of a ‘live-in-relationship’...

RANDOM LEAF OUT OF MY DAY Posted On: 16/8/2008

It's been long since I last typed at 30 wpm(heck, I'm that slow!), and I find myself lost, hunting for words. Content, actually. But that's never a deterrent. I'd blabber anyways.
This time, college has proved to be lot more fun. It's a huge load of my chest, personally, that I'm no more the 'easy-to-lick' junior, and also a recurrent bearer of the brunt of countless jokes, pratical, or otherwise...

Arun, Vinayak and I had some jollity, the other day. We ventured into a territory, that very few tread in our campus. Aha! If I got you picturing us as three gutsy adventurists, I’d be very satisfied with my way of putting into words, this tomfoolery of ours. Fact is, with a campus half full of nerd-heads, even an occasional venture out into places other than those where you just eat, sleep, drink or study, would be like heading off on an expedition...

BORE...BORING...BORED Posted On: 27/7/2008

It’s been a week in Warangal. And all I’ve done yet, is have read the ‘Week’ in Warangal. Pooh! With no proper Internet connectivity, it’s like being stranded in the middle of an island…

TRAIN FOR A DAY Posted On: 16/7/2008

A 24 hour journey. How to make the most of it?

I'm a seasoned traveller, now. I've my own way of making an overnight journey pleasing. A book always comes in handy. More so, fellow ramblers and their funny ways. Occupants on each berth can be identified with some loony toons character...

VOID MAIN() Posted On: 12/7/2008

Hey, I'm an absolute theist. But that does not mean I'll be facile in shedding my shirt and vest(in that particular order) when I visit certain temples down south!! What with this rule that seemingly makes no sense. Twisted ideologies, or ignorance among us, the new generation of the importance of the ancient rules???

Yuhoo!

That's my way of saying yippee...I'll never say Yahoo! he he ...that's maybe because I'm a Google loyalist!

So!!

With only two weeks left for college, I'm more than happy 'bout it. And yes...this could be my last post for a long time...or at least until I get back to the college confines. And I wonder what shape ragging is going to take this time...

NO STATE QUOTAS IN NITs Posted On: 1/7/2008

Now here's something new. On June 9, there was an order issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, according to which there will be no state quota for admissions into the NITs. That is, apart from the 50% quota for the students of the state in which the NIT is situated, there wouldn't be any fixed state quota for filling up the other 50% seats...

SHEDDING STEREOTYPES Posted On: 26/6/2008

What is to follow, is an earnest imploration to all those who are, or yet to find themselves rat-trapped into four years of engineering . Well, actually, this is my story. How I feel about engineering now...especially after having had the choice...to never get into it, in the first place!...

ROOM FOR THOUGHT Posted On: 23/6/2008

Seenu and I have been room-mates for a year now. Mistake. Closet-mates, if at all there is this word. No problemo dude, even if there isn't. You see, if I'm not an Oxford sophomore, it's only coz I don't give a damn to what's there and what's not in that God-forsaken pillow of a dictionary. So...where was I?...

4 NEW IITs. 6 NEW IIMs.

This piece of news is close to three months old. Yet, on the face of it, a perennial hornets' nest, that pisses me off and puts me to wonder whether it's haplessness or hopelessness that inflicts me. Or both...

SIMPLICITY OR INCIPIENCE ??? Posted On: 18/6/2008

I hope the heading speaks for itself! There is this issue I have. Though I would insist on emphasizing that the issue hasn't yet bowled me clean. It's actually great loss of certain parts of the body that calls me to caution many an aspirant before they enter these doomed portals, lest they join the balding troupe!...

MY OPENING ADDRESS Posted On: 16/6/2008

There goes this saying... something akin to pen being mightier than a sword!!...bah, utter nonsense these days...though I'd say that a keyboard definitely is!! See, that's how it works out today. A tussle between old day sagacity and modern day common sense...
