STAMPING ON AN EVENTUAL STAMPING GROUND

Arun, Vinayak and I had some jollity, the other day. We ventured into a territory, that very few tread in our campus. Aha! If I got you picturing us as three gutsy adventurists, I’d be very satisfied with my way of putting into words, this tomfoolery of ours. Fact is, with a campus half full of nerd-heads, even an occasional venture out into places other than those where you just eat, sleep, drink or study, would be like heading off on an expedition.

All in all, our tour through our future abode left us with some real fun moments, dodging ditches and mud-puddles...cement and sand falling off the seventh storey accelerating towards us at 9.8 m/s2...all this time joking about the heavy and not-so-heavy lectures, the cranky profs, not missing the occasional personal remarks and snide cracks at some of the hefty females of our class (no personally held feelings, mind you- Only the nerdy, vilified)

The mega-hostel, according to me, would be somewhere around 40% complete, not giving a damn to any statistics that the engineers would be otherwise providing. I don’t really want to make a mockery of this, but pardon me for indulging in witticism.

The mega-hostels pose many a concern to this ever-fidgety mind of mine. My first concern would be preparing an assignment or project for the next day if my weedy friends end up with rooms 200 metres or more, away from mine. Man! single-rooms would take all fun away from life! How can we possibly have those great b’day parties, card-games and movie-get-togethers in rooms which would choke any number greater than two?

One positive point, though. The Ladies Hostel would be close by. Uh-oh...If just writing about the L-H gives me such an adrenaline rush, I’d better reserve my elaborate comments!

And hey! I’m really in no mood to whine...If not anything else, I can surely hope for something better...looking at what we already have to put up with.
